Zinduri's Flight: The Hatching - A musical travelogue born from adventures, journeys, encounters, discoveries, and lessons learned. The hummingbird leaving its nest to seek pollen and make the earth bloom.

This new EP, the first volume by artist Lau Gomez, traces her life journey from her departure from Colombia in 2015 to France, where she lives today, including her many travels across Africa, Asia, and Europe.

A poetry of destiny that transforms into different chapters of her own life story. Songs infused with hybrid melodies, featuring jazzy, world, and modern touches, reflecting the sonic diversity that defines Lau's rich musical language. Her Latin American colors, Afro-Latin rhythms, warm jazzy tones, and surprising fusions born from these travels.

Through these 5 songs, she symbolically recounts the hatching of the hummingbird, her rediscovery of her native country, her connection with Egypt, her arrival in France, and one of the artistic encounters that inspired her to write a song in response. This is just the beginning of two future volumes: La travesia & La floraison.

  • Rumor de Campo, with a Colombian Bambuco rhythm, is a poem dedicated to my grandparents, our ancestors, our farmers, and our indigenous communities. It speaks of voices filled with powerful life stories surrounding conflict, of wrinkles that mark the changes of a people, a territory of hope, as witnessed by those who lived through these circumstances.
  • El Rutinario, in a Funky Latino style, was written between Colombia and France. It's a song that encourages reflection, questioning our society, our environment, and our purpose in life. An imposed routine, a daily emptiness; one must face life with kindness and find oneself, one's true path.
  • Hafla, Tabla, Arghul, with Arabic melodies, is a dedication to my travels, encounters, and learnings in Egypt. The magic of their culture, the depth of their history, the smiles and kindness of the families and friends who welcomed me and shared about themselves, their traditions, and their knowledge.
  • Embrace your humanity, in a Reggae Latino style, was written since my arrival in France, after leaving Colombia. It's a song that encourages embracing diversity, shedding hypocrisy, humbly understanding different realities, and appreciating the beauty of what represents us in this shared home we inhabit, the beautiful planet Earth.
  • Paraiso, Paraiso, blending Son and Cumbia, is a musical response to an artist from Guinea-Bissau who inspired me with the poetry and beauty of his music: Manecas Costa. No borders between Latin America and Africa; let's all take a boat together to discover, retrace, and understand the history, sounds, values, and realities of one another. In this world that is a paradise, a paradise of every kind.
